Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Crashout ("Crashout," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and related SMS/MMS messaging services (collectively, the "Service"). Crashout lets you crash out and track each other's crashouts with the click of a button. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to operate the Service:

  • Mobile phone number — used to send and receive SMS/MMS messages.
  • Account information — such as a username or display name you choose.
  • Crashout activity — the crashouts you log and the crashouts you track from other users.
  • Message content — links to voice recordings and related content shared through the Service.

2. SMS/MMS Messaging

When you opt in, we use a Twilio-provisioned phone number to send you SMS and MMS messages. These messages primarily contain links to voice recordings and notifications about crashouts.

  • Message frequency varies based on your activity and the activity of users you track.
  • Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Consent: Mobile information and consent to receive SMS/MMS messages will never be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

3. Opting Out & Help

You can cancel SMS/MMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. After you send STOP, we will send a confirmation message and then stop sending messages.

For help, reply HELP to any message or contact us at support@crashoutapp.com. To resume messages after opting out, reply START.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Send SMS/MMS messages with links to voice recordings and crashout notifications.
  • Let you track and be tracked by other users you connect with.
  • Respond to your support requests and communications.
  • Protect against fraud, abuse, and security issues.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited cases:

  • Service providers — such as Twilio, which delivers our SMS/MMS messages on our behalf.
  • Other users — crashout activity is shared with the users who track you, as designed by the Service.
  • Legal requirements — when required to comply with applicable law or valid legal process.

6. Data Security & Retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and we delete or anonymize it when it is no longer needed, unless retention is required by law.

7. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to opt out of certain uses. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@crashoutapp.com. You can stop SMS/MMS messages at any time by replying STOP.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be communicated through the Service.
